Richard Travers has practised as a trial lawyer for more than 40 years. He was a member of the New South Wales bar and a partner in national law firm, Clayton Utz.

He has taught law as a Teaching Fellow at the UNSW Law School for 10 years.

Richard Travers advises on litigation projects through his firm, Altior.

Altior seldom runs cases. Rather, it provides a limited range of services aimed at refining the approaches that litigants take to dispute management and litigation.

Altior’s role is to give a fresh point of view: to look into the merits; to validate the prospects of success; to do the difficult research; and to write it all up in submissions and arguments that other lawyers can take to court.

Altior gives best value to litigants who have good cases and good lawyers, but are tiring of the process, and need a boost to get them over the line.
